Op donderdag 16-2-2011 zal Martin van den Berg afscheid nemen als voorzitter van de afdeling Architectuur van het NGI. Hij wordt opgevolgd door Linda Terlouw. Het NGI heeft Sally Bean, voorzitter van IRM UK’s EAC Europe conference on Enterprise Architecture, uitgenodigd een presentatie voor deze gelegenheid te verzorgen.

Martin van den Berg has made a significant contribution to advancing the practice of EA, through his involvement in the DYA framework and his book collaborations.  One such book,  “Building an Enterprise Architecture practice” was written some years ago but still provides plenty of sound advice on avoiding common pitfalls and generating value. In this talk, Sally Bean, whose enthusiastic endorsement can be found on the back cover, will look at some of the success factors for enterprise architecture that were highlighted in the book.  She will compare these with what is typically happening in organisations today and offer some of her own ideas on how the practice of enterprise architecture can become more mature and effective.

Sally is an independent Enterprise Architecture consultant who advises large organizations in the private and public sector on how to develop their EA capability and embed EA approaches into their ways of working. She has 20 years experience in the field, with 10 years as a business systems architect in British Airways.  She is particularly interested in applying systems thinking and complexity approaches to architecture, as well as the more social and organisational aspects of implementing EA. She chairs IRM UK’s EAC Europe conference on Enterprise Architecture.
